Job summary

F5, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead product security incident response, vulnerability management, and customer security incident handling.

You will coordinate complex investigations, communicate actionable guidance, and mentor teams across global functions to strengthen security posture. The role emphasizes collaboration with Product Engineering, Legal, and Communications, plus development of incident response plans, playbooks, and knowledge sharing to elevate security across

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in technical security roles including incident response and security operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert knowledge of CVE, CVSS, risk prioritization, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO).
• CISSP, GCIH, or equivalent certifications; cloud certification expected.
• Extensive experience with DDoS, web app, DNS, and network security threats.

Responsibilities

• Lead security investigations, incident response, and remediation efforts for complex cases.
• Monitor and assess vulnerabilities in products/services using internal reports and threat intel.
• Prioritize risks by severity and guide remediation with engineering and stakeholders.
• Publish advisories, mitigations, and fix notices in collaboration with Product teams.
• Mentor engineers, develop incident response plans, and run training sessions.
• Contribute to post-mortems and translate findings into product improvements.
