Job summary

Micron in Singapore is seeking a Senior Security Firmware Engineer to join an engineering team focused on safeguarding the firmware of SSD products. You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot security-related issues and implement fixes.

The role emphasizes hands-on debugging, validation of cryptographic features, and proactive vulnerability response, with opportunities to influence security practices across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded security and firmware.
• Experience in customer-facing engineering roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with storage security standards (TCG Opal, NVMe security) and secure firmware updates.
• Strong debugging and log analysis skills.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical escalation point for Security Firmware on SSD products.
• Guide customers through configuration and validation of SSD security features (TCG Opal/Pyrite/Ruby, Enterprise SSC, NVMe security).
• Reproduce and debug firmware issues; deliver root-cause analysis.
• Develop and validate targeted Security Firmware changes and customer-specific builds.
• Assess vulnerabilities and support remediation and disclosure.
• Support customer security audits and certification activities (TCG, FIPS, Common Criteria).
• Represent Micron in technical engagements with customer teams and translate issues to diverse audiences.
• Foster teamwork and personal development within the firmware group.
• Integrate AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and quality.
