Job summary

Fabrica AI in Singapore is seeking a software engineer to design and implement autonomous robot software using ROS2, C++17 and Python. You will contribute to perception pipelines, AI model integration and edge deployment, working closely with hardware teams.

You will also calibrate sensors such as cameras and LIDAR, implement firmware communication protocols, and participate in testing and cross-functional reviews. Occasional on-site work at live environments may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++17 or later for performance-critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, tooling, ML pipelines.
• Experience with embedded development in C.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain software modules for autonomous robot operation using ROS2.
• Support the robot perception stack by building data pipelines for collection, labelling and preprocessing.
• Develop and integrate AI/ML models into the robot software stack and deploy onto edge hardware.
• Research and evaluate AI techniques relevant to robotics (object detection, segmentation, depth estimation).
• Calibrate on-robot sensors including cameras and LIDAR.
• Design and maintain firmware logic and device-to-device communication (CAN, I2C, SPI).
• Evaluate third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs where beneficial.
• Design and execute testing strategies (unit, integration, HIL).
• Diagnose and resolve software and firmware issues with root-cause fixes.
• Develop tooling for build systems, testing, logging and remote diagnostics.
• Participate in design reviews and internal documentation.
