Job summary

HSBC Singapore invites a senior professional to join as VP, Risk and Controls for Retail Banking & Wealth. Lead QC teams, drive risk and control design, and ensure regulatory compliance across IWPB and 2LoD activities.

Engage senior stakeholders and steer improvements in risk culture. Role focuses on end-to-end risk management, control ownership, and resilience across Retail Banking & Wealth, with a hybrid work arrangement in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years’ experience in risk and controls; AML qualifications such as ICA Diploma, ACAMS or IBF are advantageous.
• Leadership experience across front-line and risk roles with AML/KYC and operational resilience knowledge.
• Strong risk acumen and ability to identify issues and deliver improvements.
• Confident communicator who can engage senior stakeholders and challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities

• Lead QC analysts, ensure checks meet SLAs and report quality-score MI to Business Heads and Risk forums.
• Tabulate quarterly QC results and provide RM scorecard ratings to onshore/offshore teams.
• Develop and implement risk and control processes with Risk Stewards aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Articulate business risk profile, control design, operating effectiveness and monitoring plans.
• Identify and address control weaknesses and emerging risks, support risk governance.
• Manage IBS assessments, continuity planning, testing and guidance to Business Service Owners.
• Represent IWPB at Operational Resilience forums and coordinate with Incident Owners.
• Identify themes through back-book reviews and ensure regulatory reporting meets standards.
