Job summary

AZTEC STEEL PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead pre- and post-tender activities for structural steel projects. You will prepare take-offs, evaluate costs, and manage procurement with suppliers and subcontractors.

The role requires 8+ years in related tendering work, strong AutoCAD/MS Office skills, and excellent communication to support budgeting and payments for ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of pre- and post-tender experience.
• Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Strong analytical skills for project cost evaluation and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings to support tenders and projects.
• Develop RFQ packages for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate and prepare bills of quantities for costs.
• Source and assess suppliers for tenders and projects.
• Create comparison sheets to inform procurement decisions.
• Procure materials per fabrication/shop drawings.
• Prepare variation order quotations to manage changes.
• Submit progressive payment claims and follow up.
• Monitor project budgets and financial control.
• Verify supplier/subcontractor claims for accuracy.

• Prepare measurement sheets and detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and documents to support tender and ongoing projects.
• Develop and send request for quotation packages to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate and formulate bills of quantities for direct and indirect project costs.
• Source and assess suppliers and subcontractors for tender and ongoing projects.
• Construct and analyze comparison sheets for quotations to inform procurement decisions.
• Procure materials according to issued fabrication or shop drawings.
• Prepare and submit variation order quotations to manage project changes.
• Submit progressive claims to clients and follow up to ensure timely payment.
• Prepare, check, and monitor project budgets to maintain financial control.
• Evaluate and verify claims submitted by suppliers and subcontractors for accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pre- and post-tender activities within the related field.
• Experience working with structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical skills applied to project cost evaluation and procurement.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
