THIAM BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD in Singapore is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to lead a team and handle quantity surveying matters from tender to completion. The ideal candidate will manage cost estimates, prepare tender documents, and negotiate with contractors.
Qualified candidates should have a Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building or Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with SIA and FIDIC contracts is advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a team of QS to handle all quantity surveying matters from tender to completion.
Lead a team for the following.
Manage and prepare the measurements and cost estimates for the construction projects from initial calculations to the final accounts.
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
Prepare contract documents in accordance with the regulations.
Preparation of Monthly Progress claims, variation orders and payments to subcontractors.
Involve in managing and reporting of project budget & cost control.
Responsible in post-contracts administration for both the Main Contract and Subcontracts.
Monitor all financial aspects of the projects to ensure projects run according to budget.
Liaise and establish rapport with consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, developers and contractors on certification of claims for payment.
Be familiar with various stages of projects to source for the most viable yet reasonable priced materials.
Able to share new perspectives on cost, orders and claims.
With the understanding of the contractual legal rights, he/she will be involved in advising the management on their position of the contract from the tender stage.
Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building or Civil Engineering.
Minimum 10 years working experience in tendering, estimating and measurement of quantities on projects worth at least $30 million.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Candidates with knowledge in Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Conditions of Contract, REDAS, FIDIC, FIDIC Short Form of Contracts will be an added advantage.
