Job summary

Golden Sands Construction & Engineering Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contract administration on main-contractor projects, including progress claims, payment certs, VO, and final accounts.

You will prepare and follow up on cost documentation with clients, consultants, and suppliers, maintain records, perform monthly valuations, monitor budgets, and forecast final project costs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Building or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Singapore construction industry, preferably with main-contractor exposure.
  • Ability to work independently, proactive, and able to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for cost management and contract administration on main-contractor projects, including progress claims, payment certifications, VO, and final accounts.
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on progress claims, variation orders submissions, and cost documentation with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintain proper records and tracking of all variation orders, claims, and correspondences for documentation and compliance.
  • Carry out monthly valuation of work done, monitor project costs, control budgets, and forecast final project costs.
  • Attend project, coordination, and site meetings with project and site teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Assist in tender preparation, costing, and submission with accuracy and compliance.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers with price comparisons and value engineering.
  • Prepare and issue Work Orders and Letters of Award to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in procurement planning, materials ordering, and coordination with site operations for timely delivery.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.

  • Maintain proper records and tracking of all variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondences to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Carry out monthly valuation of work done, monitor project costs, control budgets, and forecast final project costs.
  • Attend project, coordination, and site meetings, working closely with the project and site teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Assist in tender preparation, costing, and submission, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with tender requirements.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, including detailed price comparison and value engineering where applicable.
  • Prepare and issue Work Orders(WO) and Letters of Award (LOA) to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in procurement planning, materials ordering, and coordination with site operations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Building, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Singapore construction industry, preferably with main‑contractor project exposure.
  • Able to work independently, proactive, and able to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiar with construction cost management practices.
