Job summary

Rakuten Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore’s CBD is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design and automate test plans for backend and occasional frontend applications across diverse architectures.

You will architect automation frameworks, drive testing strategy, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure comprehensive coverage while applying AI/agentic systems testing insights.

Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years of web application testing and automation experience.
• Proficient in Python or Java and strong OO concepts.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks; Selenium or Cucumber is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages Bash, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with at least one public cloud: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Understanding of AI and agentic systems testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Write, extend, and maintain automated test plans and scripts.
• Design and execute tests for backend and frontend applications across architectures.
• Architect automation frameworks and define automation strategies.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage with engineering and product teams.
• Participate in design and specification reviews to shape test plans.
• Assist cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and problem ID.
• Champion QA best practices and drive process improvements.
• Stay current with AI/agentic systems testing approaches.
