Job summary

Zenika Singapore seeks a backend Python expert to design, build, and maintain high-performance microservices and data pipelines. You will craft robust, scalable solutions using FastAPI, Django, or Flask while ensuring clean architecture and production reliability.

You will implement asynchronous patterns, containerize with Docker and Kubernetes, and collaborate with clients to deliver operational software. Mentorship and engineering excellence are valued as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend engineering.
• Deep knowledge of Python internals, async programming, and writing clean, idiomatic code.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful design, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, clean code, and robust test suites.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications and microservices using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
• Asynchronous & Event-Driven Systems: Implement scalable concurrency and integrate message brokers for real-time data streaming.
• API Excellence: Design clean APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) for frontend and partners.
• Data Strategy: Design efficient data access layers across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Engineering Standards: Embrace TDD, automated testing, code reviews, and living documentation.
• Cloud & Automation: Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy on cloud using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Leadership: Engage in architectural discussions and mentor junior engineers.
