Job summary

Zenika Singapore seeks a backend Python consultant to design, build, and maintain high-performance applications and microservices for client engagements. You’ll work with client teams to architect and implement services using FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

You’ll apply asynchronous, event-driven patterns, craft clean APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), and shape data access across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL. Emphasis on testing, TDD, code reviews, and living documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development experience
• Strong Python expertise with clean, idiomatic code
• Experience designing microservices and event-driven systems
• Familiar with REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs
• Ability to write automated tests and perform code reviews
• Consulting mindset with client-facing communication

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems and microservices
• Design asynchronous, event-driven components and data pipelines
• Deliver robust APIs and ensure developer-friendly API design
• Shape data access layers across relational and NoSQL stores
• Uphold engineering standards with tests, reviews, and living documentation
• Lead cloud deployments with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
