Job summary

Zenika in Singapore seeks a backend Python consultant to design and build robust, scalable backend systems and data pipelines. You will work on client engagements, architect high-performance applications using modern Python frameworks, and ensure reliable production systems.

You’ll implement asynchronous, event-driven patterns, design REST/GraphQL/gRPC APIs, and craft efficient data access across relational and NoSQL stores.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Python, async programming, and clean idiomatic code.
• Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful design, and event-driven patterns.
• Passion for quality, testing, and maintainable code.
• Experience with cloud deployments and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to explain complex tech decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems and microservices.
• Asynchronously process data and enable real-time streaming integrations.
• Design clean APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and robust data access layers.
• Apply engineering standards: testing, TDD, code reviews, and living docs.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and deploy cloud-native apps (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Lead architectural discussions and mentor junior engineers on client teams.
