Zenika Singapore is seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer who excels in Python and building scalable data pipelines. You’ll craft robust backend systems, leverage async patterns, and design API-first services across multiple frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask).

You will collaborate with diverse client teams, advocate Python best practices, and mentor junior engineers while enjoying a hybrid work setup and strong learning benefits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend engineering.
• Deep knowledge of Python internals, async programming, and writing clean, idiomatic code.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful design, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems.
• A passion for software craftsmanship, clean code, and robust test suites using PyTest, Black, and linting tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build high-performance backend applications and microservices.
• Collaborate with client engineering teams to deliver scalable systems and data pipelines.
• Implement asynchronous and event-driven patterns with real-time data streaming.
• Develop clean, contract-first APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) for frontend and partner consumption.
• Apply engineering standards including automated testing, code reviews, and living documentation.
