Job summary

BCS is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to provide 24x7 operational support for critical applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, and PayNow. You will monitor environments, manage incidents, perform RCA, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement durable fixes.

The role requires strong Java/J2EE, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL experience and familiarity with AWS, containers, and DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in Java, J2EE/JEE, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL, Jasper report, APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and/or XML.
Basic understanding of Solaris and/or Linux OS such as RHEL would be required.

Responsibilities

Manage and resolve application incident tickets end-to-end, from initial investigation through to closure.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application-related issues to minimise business impact.
Perform root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to identify underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
Document solutions, workarounds, and known issues for knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other support teams to resolve complex issues and implement long-term fixes.
Support day-to-day application monitoring, deployments, and environments support.
Escalate critical or unresolved issues and track progress to resolution.
Provide regular status updates and incident reports to technical leads and management.
Ensure 24x7 support where required and adherence to SLAs.
Participate in enhancements, testing, and documentation to improve stability and supportability.
Assist in addressing production queries from internal stakeholders, auditors, banks, and regulators.
