Job summary

Bacha Coffee in Singapore is seeking a Senior Public Relations professional to lead global PR strategy and ensure consistent brand messaging across markets. You will coordinate with HQ and overseas partners, vet press materials, and manage media relations and events.

You will develop materials for global campaigns, elevate brand presence in luxury spaces, and work with cross-functional teams to implement editorial guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications or public relations, preferably in luxury retail.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations preferred.
• Past experience managing international Public Relations agencies or global brands preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent writing and proofreading skills; second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute global Public Relations strategy that align with brand developments, priorities and announcements.
• Familiarising with the brand DNA and ensuring all external communications are on-brand across markets.
• Guide overseas partners for local media relations and vet press releases, campaigns across markets.
• Write and proofread press releases, media responses, boilerplates, bios, fact sheets, and media kits.
• Elevate brand presence through media liaison, events, hostings, and overseas media trips.
• Coordinate with other departments to create PR materials and assets.
• Work with subsidiaries, franchises and distributors to implement brand/editorial guidelines.
• Manage issues and crises with PR teams and agencies in Singapore and overseas.
• Maintain archives of global media clippings and update PR reporting standards.
• Monitor trends in luxury, retail and F&B to inform management.
• Maintain media databases and refresh outreach to stay current.

Job Summary

Responsible for planning and implementing Bacha Coffee’s global public relations strategies and activities while ensuring consistency in brand messaging across relevant markets. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of support materials and management of PR agencies internationally, as well as coordinating strategically with the other departments and stakeholders within the company and the brand.

Primary Relationships

The position reports directly to the Public Relations Manager.

Within the organisation, this position has primary working relationships with the other members of the Corporate Communication Department, other HQ Departments and overseas partners.

Outside the organization, the position coordinates primarily with PR agencies, business partners and the media.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute global Public Relations strategy that align with the brand developments, priorities and announcements
• Familiarising with the brand DNA, heritage and offerings, while embodying the brand ethos. Support other departments, partners and stakeholders in ensuring that all external-facing communication is on-brand and Bacha Coffee’s desired image and positioning is consistently and accurately articulated
• Support Public Relations Manager to guide overseas partners (both subsidiaries and franchises) for the management of their local media relations and vet their suggested press releases, PR campaigns, etc. across all markets globally
• Write and proofread communication materials i.e., press releases, responses for media queries and interviews, boilerplates, management biographies, fact sheets, media kits, etc.
• Elevating brand presence and positioning the brand accurately in local and global media sphere through media related activities such as media liaison, gifting, events and hostings, overseas media trips, etc.
• Coordinating internally with other departments on all Public Relations matters including the creation of Public Relations materials and assets
• Working with Bacha Coffee subsidiaries, franchises and distributors to ensure implementation of brand and editorial guidelines and directives
• Effectively manage issues and crises in collaboration with Public Relations teams and Public Relations agencies in Singapore and overseas
• Ensuring that proper archives of global media clippings are maintained and regularly updating Public Relations reporting standards
• Regularly monitoring trends and informing management of developments in luxury, retail and F&B industries
• Maintaining Bacha Coffee media databases and periodically revising and refreshing media outreach to constantly remain current

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the luxury retail sector
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations preferred
• Past experience working in a Public Relations agency or managing international Public Relations agencies preferred
• Past experience practising Public Relations for a luxury brand preferred
• Past experience dealing with international markets/stakeholders and media being responsible for a global or regional scope
• Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and have excellent writing and proofreading skills.
• A second or third language would be an advantage, as it would support effective communication with our diverse franchise partners

Other

• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills
• Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, pitching and hosting media
• Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout
• Commitment to working in cross-functional teams
• Very strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
• Out-of-town, overnight travel might be required from time to time (less than 10%)
