Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to provide expert support for PostgreSQL and Sybase in production environments within a financial services context.

You will manage incidents, drive root-cause analyses, and lead automation initiatives while ensuring ITIL-aligned processes and regulatory compliance across on-site infrastructure in Singapore.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or Sybase in production environments.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in enterprise environments; financial services is a plus.
• Solid understanding of IT security practices and ITIL processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Act as highest level of technical escalation for PostgreSQL/Sybase issues.
• Manage incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Lead and delegate technical tasks; promote knowledge sharing.
• Own fault investigation, resolution, and user issue escalations.
• Perform deployments, upgrades, and DR/HA configuration of databases.
• Participate in infrastructure events (e.g., Power Down, DR Tests).
• Drive root cause analysis for high-severity incidents.
• Maintain compliance with IT standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure documentation is current, clear, and usable.
• Lead automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
