Job summary

Farrer Park Hospital Pte. Ltd. requires a Pharmacy Technician to oversee roster planning and ensure adequate coverage across inpatient, retail and emergency pharmacies while coaching and training new technicians and assistants.

You will collaborate with pharmacists on inventory management and procurement, and support the pharmacy manager on related projects, focusing on accurate dispensing and excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• GCE N Level with a Pharmacy Technician certificate or diploma in related field.
• 1 year of experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Resourceful, organized and able to work independently.
• Strong analytical capabilities and good problem solving skills.
• Open to working shift hours/weekends including night shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain distribution of drugs with strict inventory control.
• Assist pharmacist with drug ordering, processing and replenishment.
• Dispense and counsel patients on medications per Good Dispensing Guidelines.
• Provide professional and customer service to patients and staff.
• Supervise, coach and train new pharmacy technicians and assistants.
• Assist with clerical work and other administrative duties as assigned.

Job Scope Summary

To oversee roster planning to ensure adequate pharmacy technician coverage for inpatient, retail and emergency pharmacies and supervise, coach and train new pharmacy technicians and assistants in work processes. In addition, he/she is required to work closely with pharmacists for inventory management and procurement as well as aid the pharmacy manager in related projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• To maintain the distribution of drugs and to ensure a stringent and accurate inventory control system
• To assist pharmacist with drugs ordering, processing and replenishment.
• Dispense and counsel patients on medications according to Good Dispensing Guidelines.
• Provide professional and good customer service to all patients and staff.
• Supervise, coach and train new pharmacy technicians and assistants in work processes.
• To help out with clerical work and other administrative functions as assigned by pharmacists.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE “N” Level with a Certificate in Pharmacy Technician course conducted by Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore or Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science.
• One year of experience in acute hospital setting.
