Job summary

Alexandra Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in safe, efficient medication distribution and dispensing medicines to patients according to department policies and guidelines. You will support pharmacy operations, process medication orders, handle picking/packing/labeling, perform medication reconciliation, and assist with daily inpatient supply orders and billing.

Emphasis on accuracy, teamwork and patient service.

Qualifications

• Possess CPTC Certification OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR foreign Pharmacy degree (not recognized by Singapore Pharmacy Council)
• Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
• Able to communicate effectively and function well as a team

Responsibilities

• Primary Responsibilities (80%): Pharmacy Operations — Simple medication dispensing; Processing medication orders; Picking, packing and labeling medicines; Medication reconciliation; Pre-packing medications; Processing daily nurse request orders for inpatient supplies; Billing functions.
• Customer Service — Provide professional and courteous service to patients/customers.
• Inventory Management — Proper stock organization (FIFO); Maintain appropriate storage conditions; Conduct cycle counts according to SOPs.
• Medication Safety — Comply with pharmacy medication safety practices.
• Secondary Responsibilities (20%): Quality Improvement — Participate in quality improvement projects.

Performs technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH. Assists the senior pharmacist in charge to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement. Dispenses medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities (80%)

• Pharmacy Operations:
  • Simple medication dispensing

  • Medication reconciliation (counting, sorting, typing prescriptions)
  • Pre-packing medications
  • Processing of daily nurse request orders for inpatient supplies
  • Billing functions
