Job summary

StarHub Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Performance Engineer to establish scalable testing practices for business-critical applications and platforms in Singapore.

You will own the end-to-end performance testing lifecycle, from workload modelling to release recommendations, working with product, architecture, SRE, and engineering teams. You will design, execute, and automate complex load and capacity tests using k6, JMeter, Gatling, and equivalent tools, while correlating results with APMs and traces

Qualifications

• Own performance test strategy and workload modelling for business-critical apps and platforms.
• Establish NFRs, SLOs, baselines, capacity models, and quality gates.
• Build in-house capability and mentor engineers to raise performance testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Define testable NFRs, SLOs, KPIs, workloads, and acceptance criteria with product, architecture, and SRE teams.
• Design and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, and capacity tests using industry tools.
• Build data-driven scripts and operate distributed load generation at scale.
• Use APM, metrics, logs, and traces to isolate bottlenecks and improve test reliability.
• Test cloud and distributed platforms involving containers, Kubernetes, load balancers, and databases.
• Integrate performance tests and thresholds into CI/CD and maintain baselines and trends.
• Lead cross-functional triage, communicate risks, and provide release sign-off recommendations.
• Define standards and mentor engineers, supporting hiring and transitioning vendor scripts.
