Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in software testing with 5+ years leading performance testing.
• Experience designing and executing performance, load, stress tests.

• Strong knowledge of APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Performance Test Lead to lead and manage all performance testing activities across our projects. The Performance Test Lead will be responsible for defining performance test strategies, planning and executing performance tests, identifying system bottlenecks, and ensuring applications meet performance, scalability, reliability, and availability requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities, hands-on experience with industry-standard performance testing and monitoring tools, and a solid understanding of application architecture, infrastructure, databases, and production-like environments. The role also requires support during night and after-office hours for performance testing and system commissioning activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end performance testing activities for software applications and systems.
• Define and implement performance test strategies, test plans, workload models, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter or equivalent.
• Conduct performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity testing.
• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for performance tuning and optimization.
• Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, database, network, and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance using performance monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Ensure performance testing activities are integrated into project delivery and release cycles.
• Prepare and present performance test reports, findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Establish performance testing standards, best practices, and governance within the team.
• Mentor and guide team members in performance testing methodologies and tools.
• Coordinate performance testing activities with external vendors, partners, and third-party system providers when required.
• Support system testing, integrated testing, commissioning, and go-live activities, including night and after-office hour support when required.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years of hands‑on experience leading performance testing initiatives for medium to large‑scale enterprise systems.
• Proven experience in designing and executing performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity testing.
• Hands‑on experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter or equivalent.
• Good understanding of application architecture, web technologies, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL, with the ability to analyze database‑related performance issues.
• Experience analyzing application, infrastructure, network, and database performance bottlenecks.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect management, and release management processes.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple testing activities, and deliver results under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large‑scale testing and commissioning projects within the transportation, traffic management, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), or smart city domains.
• Experience in enterprise‑wide Traffic Management Systems (TMS) or mission‑critical systems.
• Exposure to automation testing frameworks and tools will be an added advantage.
