Veolia ES Singapore Industrial Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Operations Technician for our hazardous chemical processing plant in Singapore. This hands-on, shift-based role focuses on safe, efficient operations and strict adherence to EHS rules.
You will monitor DCS, conduct site rounds, record data, support start-up/shut-down, participate in safety reviews, and act as an active CERT member in emergencies, contributing to continuous improvement.
Join our team as a Senior Operations Technician at our hazardous chemical processing plant. You will play a hands‑on role in plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production. This is a shift-based operational role suited for technically grounded individuals who take pride in keeping complex processes running safely and smoothly.
Monitor and adjust process parameters via Hot and Cold DCS consoles to meet production targets.
Conduct site rounds, including flame pattern observation at the incineration unit, to optimise operations.
Record operating data, identify deviations, and take corrective actions promptly.
Support start-up, shut-down, and routine maintenance activities.
Perform basic process calculations and material balances.
Manage DCS/ESD alarms and troubleshoot issues at both DCS and field levels.
Contribute to root cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere strictly to Veolia Life Saving Rules and all EHS procedures, including LOTO, PTW, WAH, Confined Space, and Hot Work.
Participate in Risk Assessments (RA), Management of Change (MOC), and Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Be an active member of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Participate in emergency drills and be proficient in fire fighting systems and safety equipment, including SCBA and Bunker Coat.
Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience in process plant or continuous production operations (e.g. chemical, petrochemical, or similar industries).
Familiarity with DCS operations and standard safety procedures (PTW, LOTO, etc.).
Effective team player with good communication skills.
Able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Experience in hazardous or chemical plant environments.
Holds or is eligible for Boiler Attendant or Steam Engineer certification.
Strong troubleshooting mindset with a proactive approach to safety.
