Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate process equipment (reactors, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, storage tanks) in accordance with SOPs
• Conduct routine rounds and inspections of process units, identifying and reporting abnormalities or deviations
• Perform sampling and basic quality checks in line with process control requirements
• Respond to process upsets, alarms, and emergencies following established protocols
• Carry out start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures for process units as required
• Maintain accurate shift logs, operating records, and handover reports
• Support permit-to-work (PTW) processes for maintenance and contractor activities
• Adhere strictly to workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations, PSM requirements, and plant-specific safety protocols
• Participate in plant turnarounds, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with shift supervisors, process engineers, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant operations

Process Technician (Chemical Plant)

Recruit123 is helping our client to hire a Process Technician to join their chemical plant operations team.

Our client operates a chemical manufacturing/processing facility in Singapore and is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Process Technician to support day-to-day plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and operate process equipment (reactors, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, storage tanks) in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)


• Conduct routine rounds and inspections of process units, identifying and reporting abnormalities or deviations


• Perform sampling and basic quality checks in line with process control requirements


• Respond to process upsets, alarms, and emergencies following established protocols


• Carry out start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures for process units as required


• Maintain accurate shift logs, operating records, and handover reports


• Support permit-to-work (PTW) processes for maintenance and contractor activities

Requirements:

• NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related field


• Prior experience in a chemical plant, petrochemical, or process manufacturing environment preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant training may be considered


• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays


• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow SOPs and PTW systems strictly


• Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor/plant environment, including at heights or confined spaces as required (with proper training/certification)


• Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond calmly under pressure


• Team player with good communication skills


• Singaporeans/PRs preferred
