Job summary

SCIENTEC CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on MongoDB administration and performance tuning.

You will ensure reliable, secure, highly available databases supporting critical applications from development through production. This on-site role in Singapore offers a robust salary package and opportunities to optimize queries, indexes and configurations for peak performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on MongoDB administration experience.
• Experience with HA, replica sets and sharding.
• Experience with performance monitoring and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
• Scripting experience with Python or Bash is a plus.
• Experience with cloud DB environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain and support MongoDB databases across development, testing and production environments.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity and performance to ensure stable operations.
• Perform database performance tuning, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, slow queries and resource constraints.
• Analyse and optimise queries, indexes, execution behaviour and database configurations to improve performance.
• Configure and manage MongoDB Replica Sets and sharded environments for HA and scalability.
• Install, upgrade, patch, and migrate databases.
• Develop and maintain backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot incidents, outages, replication issues and performance degradation.
• Conduct health checks and capacity planning to support future growth.
• Implement and maintain database security, authentication and access controls.
• Support releases and DB changes with minimal production impact.
• Automate routine DBA tasks and monitoring.
• Collaborate with developers, infra, cloud and DevOps teams.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
• Provide production support and standby/on-call when required.
