Job summary

NEWTONE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Database Administrator to support mission-critical systems in a secure 24/7 environment.

You will ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB platforms, collaborating with infrastructure, system, software, and security teams. Responsibilities include incident response, HA/replica management, backups, patching, DR testing, performance tuning, and on-call support for Severity 1

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of hands-on DBA experience in enterprise production environments.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (Always On, HA, performance tuning) and MongoDB (Replica Sets, backup/recovery).
• Experience supporting 24/7 mission-critical systems and Severity 1 incidents.
• Knowledge of deployment, data patching, and release management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL operations, virtualization/containers, or integration platforms is a plus.
• Experience in Singapore Government or regulated environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Day 2 (L2/L3) production support for MSSQL and MongoDB, including incident response and root cause analysis.
• Manage high availability environments including SQL Server Always On and MongoDB Replica Sets.
• Perform database administration, backup & recovery, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Support application deployments, database releases, data migrations, and post-deployment validation.
• Implement database security, access controls, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and support compliance with government security standards.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support for critical production incidents.
