Job summary

NEWTONE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Database Administrator to manage enterprise database environments in Singapore. You will ensure availability, performance, security, and recovery while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to support mission-critical apps.

The role covers installation, tuning, backup strategies, security controls, and high-availability configurations. Strong SQL Server/Oracle skills and experience with SSRS/SSIS are essential; MongoDB is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Strong DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or similar enterprise databases.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, schema optimization, partitioning, and configuration.
• Experience with high availability technologies such as clustering, mirroring, and Availability Groups.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS/ETL.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with MongoDB is an advantage (not required).
• Database certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms.
• Monitor database health and perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity management.
• Manage database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations.
• Implement database security, user access controls, permissions, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Support database upgrades, patching, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Work with developers on database schema design, data organization, and application performance improvements.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
