Job summary

CHINA COMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED (SINGAPORE BRANCH) invites a senior MEP engineer to lead and support engineering activities from concept to project delivery in Singapore. You will review drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical submissions while coordinating with architectural, structural and other disciplines.

The role requires a degree in mechanical/electrical/building services and at least 15 years of MEP experience, with strong design coordination,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in MEP engineering and design coordination.
• Strong knowledge of ACMV, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or BIM software is a plus.
• Site QA/QC, testing and commissioning experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support MEP engineering activities from concept to project delivery.

• Coordinate services with architectural, structural and other disciplines to resolve interfaces.
• Review contractor shop drawings and technical proposals for compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and technical reviews of MEP installation.

• Support testing, commissioning, defect rectification and close-out.
• Participate in technical and coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
• Assist tendering with technical evaluation of MEP proposals and scope review.
• Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation for cost efficiency.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

• Lead and support MEP engineering activities from concept and schematic design through detailed design and project delivery.
• Review MEP drawings, calculations, specifications, technical submissions and design documentation.
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to identify and resolve design interfaces and clashes.
• Review requirements and technical solutions for ACMV, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate plant rooms, service spaces, risers, equipment locations, major routings and building service provisions.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams on technical matters and design coordination.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submissions and technical proposals to ensure compliance with design requirements and project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and technical reviews to monitor MEP installation and workmanship.
• Identify design and site issues and coordinate with relevant parties to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Support testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and project close-out activities.
• Participate in technical meetings, coordination meetings and progress discussions with project stakeholders.
• Support tendering activities, including technical evaluation of MEP proposals and preparation/review of MEP scope requirements.
• Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation initiatives to improve cost efficiency, constructability and system performance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support the project team in resolving MEP-related matters.
• Ensure MEP works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and project requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in MEP engineering, design coordination or building services.
• Relevant experience in MEP engineering, building services, engineering consultancy, main contracting or property development.
• Strong experience in MEP design, technical coordination, and engineering documentation.
• Good knowledge of building services systems, including ACMV, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection systems.
• Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Site experience in MEP installation, inspection, QA/QC, testing, and commissioning is an advantage.
• Experience in tendering, technical evaluation, and value engineering will be an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Revit or other BIM/MEP software will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
