Job summary

Accountstaff (EA) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate MEP systems across building services. You will prepare calculations, specs, and shop drawings while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve on-site issues.

You will supervise installation, monitor project progress, and oversee ACMV systems integration, testing, and commissioning to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in MEP or mechanical engineering in construction or design-build.
• Hands-on ACMV experience and knowledge of mechanical building services.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and coordinate MEP systems across several disciplines.

• Support testing, balancing, commissioning, and defect rectification.
• Conduct site inspections and root-cause analysis for value engineering.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company quality management systems.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and coordinate MEP systems, including mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, water services, drainage, and associated building services.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and authorities to resolve engineering and site coordination issues.
• Supervise site installation works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Monitor project schedules, manpower, procurement, subcontractors, and project progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Design, coordinate, and oversee the installation of ACMV systems, including chilled water systems, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, pumps, and ductwork.
• Support testing, commissioning, balancing, troubleshooting, and defect rectification of MEP and ACMV systems.
• Conduct site inspections, technical evaluations, and root cause analysis while recommending value engineering and cost optimization solutions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards, and company quality management systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP or Mechanical Engineering within the construction or design-and-build industry.
• Hands-on experience with ACMV systems and good knowledge of mechanical building services.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong technical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
