Job summary

VDL ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES GROUP (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks a Lead Mechatronic Design Engineer to steer controls, automation and motion control for semiconductor and high-tech equipment. You will own the complete development lifecycle from requirements through release.

You will mentor engineers, shape engineering standards and collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software teams to deliver integrated machine solutions and robust qualification tooling.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechatronics, electrical, automation, systems & control or software engineering.
• About 10 years in industrial automation or mechatronic system development.
• Extensive PLC programming and HMI development experience for industrial equipment.
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT (Structured Text) is preferred.
• Exposure to motion-control, servo systems and high-precision automation.
• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of controls, automation and motion-control scope in development projects.
• A chieve technical leadership for mechatronic engineers and mentor junior staff.
• Translate requirements into control architectures and software strategies.
• Define software architectures, machine sequences and state machines.
• Lead PLC, HMI and motion-control solution development using TwinCAT, Python and MATLAB.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to implement factory automation improvements.
• Develop test, validation and qualification equipment for product qualification.
• Verify motion-control performance: accuracy, stability, repeatability, throughput.
• Support system integration, commissioning, validation and qualification.
• Work with mechanical/electrical/software teams to deliver integrated machines.
• Foster best practices and growth in mechatronics engineering standards.
