Job summary

VDL Enabling Technologies Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Lead Mechatronic Design Engineer to act as the technical lead for automation, motion control and qualification tooling in semiconductor and high-tech applications. You will own controls across the development lifecycle, from requirements to release, coaching engineers and shaping engineering standards.

You will lead PLC/HMI/motion-control solution development using Beckhoff TwinCAT, Python and MATLAB, collaborate across

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechatronics or related field.
Approximately 10 years in industrial automation or mechatronics.
Extensive PLC programming and HMI development experience.
Knowledge of EtherCAT is advantageous.
Experience with version-control systems (Bitbucket or Git).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for controls, automation and motion-control scopes.
Translate requirements into control architectures, software requirements and implementation strategies.
Define software architectures, machine operating sequences and motion-control concepts.
Lead the development of PLC, HMI and motion-control solutions.
Lead factory automation initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and throughput.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and system engineers to develop integrated machine solutions.
Coach and mentor engineers in PLC programming, motion control and software engineering.
