Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore designs high‑precision mechatronic modules and motion systems for the semiconductor industry, focusing on next‑gen, high‑accuracy systems. You will program Beckhoff PLC‑based motion control software and optimize performance across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines in an international setting.

You collaborate with cross‑functional teams, take end‑to‑end ownership, support integration, and evaluate motion control performance, including safety, diagnostics, and HMI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years hands‑on PLC programming and motion control experience.
• Experience in semiconductor or high‑precision domains is a strong plus.
• Strong Beckhoff TwinCAT experience.
• Familiarity with EtherCAT architectures and MATLAB/Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain PLC software (TwinCAT); implement safety, synchronization, diagnostics, and machine logic. Create HMI interfaces and automated report generation
• Design and implement motion systems and control loops to meet demanding accuracy, stability, and throughput requirements. Perform motion control tuning and signal analysis
• Translate customer and system requirements into clear motion and control specifications
• Conduct calculations, simulations, and tests (frequency response, step response, control stability) and interpret their implications
• Contribute to the organization’s competence in motion control, PLC programming, and system dynamics
