Job summary

Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd seeks a seasoned Mechanical Designer to support engineers in delivering drawings and BOMs for data center projects in Singapore. You will prepare bulk MTOs, detailed BOMs, and layout drawings, ensuring compliance with QA/QC and client standards.

Responsibilities include creating piping, structural, and mechanical deliverables, reviewing vendor data, and guiding 3rd party design teams.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of mechanical design experience in data center or related infrastructure.
• Proficiency with CAD software and ability to produce drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Experience coordinating with 3rd party engineering firms.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOMs as per customer requirements independently.
• Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
• Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials). Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
• Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.
• Prepare and complete various Mechanical, Piping, Structural deliverable drawings and documents such as piping layout/general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping schedule, piping tie-point/ interface drawings, piping insulation details, structural general arrangement drawings, structural weld details, foundation support details, equipment mounting, pipe support details, weight / COG reports, manual valve list, HVAC ducting, instrumentation, flow diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams, pump alignment drawings, handrails /ladders, walkways, and stairs as per OSHA, platform and grating detailed drawings
• Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
• Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
• Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.
• Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
• Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
• Provide “Lessons learned” feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical design and engineering. Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design/ideas.
• General knowledge and direct experience with the construction, operation, and maintenance of data centers or mechanical systems and components. Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD).
• Fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
• Basic understanding of electrical equipment and system design within data center driving or affecting mechanical scope
