Job summary

WANCO MANPOWER PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical & Structural Designer to support the design of hyperscale modular data centre systems in Singapore West.

The contract role (1 year renewable/convertible) requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, piping and structural drawings, 3D modeling, and coordination with vendors. You will ensure QA/QC standards and deliver accurate BOMs and MTOs for integration.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certification in mechanical, piping or structural design.
• Around 7 years of relevant mechanical/design experience.
• Strong experience in mechanical, piping and/or structural design.
• Experience with fabrication, sheet metal, weldments or large assemblies is advantageous.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit and Navisworks is advantageous.
• Able to work independently on detailed drawings and BOM/MTO preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check engineering drawings, layouts, MTOs and detailed BOMs.
• Develop mechanical, piping and structural drawings including equipment and GA layouts, piping isometrics, weld details and supports.
• Review vendor drawings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate outsourced engineering/design work where required.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering and QA/QC standards.
• Support engineers in resolving design and installation issues.
• Develop accurate 3D models and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and check engineering drawings, layouts, MTOs and detailed BOMs.
• Develop mechanical, piping and structural drawings including:
• Equipment and general arrangement layouts
• Piping layouts and isometrics
• Structural and connection details
• Weld details
• Equipment mounting and pipe support details
• HVAC ducting and instrumentation layouts
• Platforms, walkways, ladders and support structures
• Develop accurate 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Review vendor drawings and technical documentation.
• Support Engineers in resolving design and installation issues.
• Coordinate outsourced engineering/design work where required.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering and QA/QC standards.

Requirements

• Technical Diploma/Certification in Mechanical, Piping, Structural Design or related discipline.
• Around 7 years' relevant mechanical/design experience.
• Strong experience in mechanical, piping and/or structural design.
• Experience with equipment fabrication, sheet metal, weldments or large assemblies is advantageous.
• Good understanding of piping layout, routing, components and supports.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit and Navisworks is advantageous.
