Job summary

Space Executive is partnering with a fast-growing data centre developer to hire an Assistant / Design Manager in Electrical or Mechanical based in Singapore. This senior technical role focuses on mechanical design across greenfield and fit-out DC projects, from Basis of Design to construction drawing validation, emphasizing reliability, sustainability and speed to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Design experience in Data Centre / substation or other critical facilities is a MUST.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and design documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills to liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
• Comfortable with on-site work including site inspections, safety compliance, and physical site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery across multiple regional DC projects simultaneously, within budget and programme.
• Develop tender and construction drawings, draft tender specifications, and conduct technical evaluations.
• Review equipment specifications, shop drawings, and construction drawings to ensure design is well-coordinated, maintainable, and code-compliant.
• Own design quality assurance from 30% through to 90% design stage and construction drawing sign-off.
• Perform technical downloads to construction and operations teams and provide problem-solving support on site.
• Drive authority pre-consultation and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop standardised construction methodology, inspection checklists, and material specifications.
• Attend technical interviews with clients and vendors.
• Design for next-generation AI workloads.

We're partnering with a fast-growing data centre developer with an active pipeline across Southeast Asia to hire an Assistant / Design Manager in Electrical or Mechanical based in Singapore. This is a senior technical role within the Design Delivery function, reporting to the Engineering Lead. You'll own mechanical design across multiple concurrent greenfield and fit-out DC projects spanning regional metros - from Basis of Design through to construction drawing validation - with a strong focus on reliability, sustainability, and speed to market.
