Job summary

PerkinElmer Scientific (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. invites an experienced Manufacturing Engineering professional to drive strategic initiatives focused on quality, cost, and productivity improvements.

The role oversees NPI and Product Transfer projects, with emphasis on value engineering, localization, and cross-functional problem solving to meet evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, 8–10 years in analytical instruments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in analytical instruments.
• Experience with NPI and product transfers is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC and AAS instrumentation.
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Project management experience and leadership capabilities.
• Lean, Six Sigma and ISO 9001/14001/45001 knowledge.

• Identify and propose opportunities for internal and external sourcing, EOL management, and cost reduction.

Summary

Identify, develop and drive strategic engineering initiatives particularly in relation to Quality, Cost, Productivity improvement. Lead NPI and Product Transfer Projects to successful completion.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for site Engineering activities, identify and propose opportunities including Out/In-sourcing ideas, EOL management, alternate sourcing and others


• Lead NPI and Product Transfer projects to successful completion


• Initiate value engineering projects to enhance operational capabilities to meet new business needs and raise operational efficiency


• Lead material localization projects for improvements in product cost, quality and operational excellence


• Work closely with cross functional teams to understand engineering related issues in order to provide effective solutions


• Drive yield improvement, reduce COPQ and drive shopfloor productivity through automation and process enhancement


• Improve site Safety through hazard identification and prevention

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering.


• At least 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering in Analytical instruments industry


• Experience in NPI and product transfers is preferred


• Knowledge in manufacturing process of analytical instruments such as Inductively Coupled Plasma- Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), Inductively Coupled Plasma- Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)


• Good oral and written communications


• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills


• Project Management experience and leadership skills


• Strong drive for results, balanced with effective decision making and problem-solving skills


• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodology
