Job summary

PERKINELMER SCIENTIFIC (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior engineering leader to identify and drive strategic plans for productivity, quality and cost improvements.

You will oversee site engineering activities, contribute to NPI and design transfers, and manage major projects on site to deliver within timeline and budget. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, 15+ years in manufacturing/production engineering, and proven leadership in an MNC.

Qualifications

• Experience in NPI design transfer.

• Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt with SPC and DFx experience.

• Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of routing hours, BOM and SAP.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical, engineering and management capabilities.
• Good leadership, training, facilitation and coaching abilities.

• Initiate projects to enhance operational capabilities to meet business needs and raise efficiency.
• Lead material localization projects for quality and efficiency.

Job description

Identify, develop and drive strategic engineering plans to improve overall productivity, quality and cost. Participate and contribute to NPI in DFM and Design Transfers. Oversight of Program Management and Major projects on site. Help drive continuous improvement culture within the Operations team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the site Engineering activities, identify and propose project opportunities including In-Sourcing ideas.
• Initiate engineering projects to enhance operational capabilities to meet new business needs and raise operational efficiency of the site
• Lead material localization projects for improvements in product quality and operational excellence
• Work closely with cross functional teams to understand engineering related issues in order to provide efficient and cost-effective support, as well as solicit inputs to drive engineering projects
• Guide and provide support to Project Team Leaders so as they deliver NPI, Product Transfer and other major projects successfully and executed within defined timeline and budget
• Support continuous yield improvement, reduce COPQ and drive shopfloor productivity

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering / science disciplines
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/ Production engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in managing a team in a dynamic and fast-paced MNC manufacturing environment
• Experience in NPI design transfer
• Project Management with experience in leading NPI projects
• At least Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt, Statistical Process Control and DFx experience
• Knowledge in analytical instruments for improvement in Productivity, Quality, Cost and Performance
• Knowledge in ISO 13485, ISO 9001 and Regulatory requirements
• Knowledge in routing hour, BOM and SAP
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Excellent problem-solving skills
