Job summary

ASMPT Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to provide day-to-day engineering support for production operations, resolve process and product issues, and help ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will analyze processes, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, drive Lean and 5S initiatives, support NPI and product transfers, and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions and SOPs.

Job description

Responsibilities


  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations and resolve process, product, and production-related issues to minimize downtime and support on-time delivery.


  • Analyze manufacturing processes, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve quality, yield, and productivity.


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, cycle time reduction, cost reduction, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S activities.


  • Support engineering change implementation, new product introduction (NPI), product transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities.


  • Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, process flows, SOPs, and technical reports.


  • Monitor manufacturing performance indicators and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.


  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturing and business objectives.


  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.



Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.


  • Preferably 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within semiconductor, electronics, precision engineering, automation, or equipment manufacturing industries.


  • Experience in production support, process improvement, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.


  • Familiarity with engineering change implementation, process validation, and manufacturing documentation.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.


  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.



Preferred Skills


  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.


  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, Control Plans, and other quality improvement tools.


  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfer, and manufacturing ramp-up activities.


  • Knowledge of semiconductor assembly, precision assembly, automation, or equipment manufacturing processes.


  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data and drive improvements in productivity, yield, quality, and cycle time.


  • Experience working with ERP/MRP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is an advantage.


  • Basic project management skills with the ability to manage improvement initiatives and cross-functional activities.
