Job summary

THIAM BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking an experienced M&E professional to oversee projects from start to completion. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering recognized by PE Board Singapore and a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in the building and construction industry.

The role involves monitoring project progress, overseeing QA/QC inspections, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring quality installation as per design specifications. Familiarity with HDB projects and high-rise developments is necessary, and experience with AutoCad is an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of M&E disciplines and be able represent the main contractor as the main M&E professional from start to completion.

Monitor and report on the progress of work to project manager.

Prepare method statements and check drawing discrepancies.

Carry out project planning, design, material requisition, cost control, project supervision and documentation.

Control the progress of RFA, RFI, Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Status for on-time completion.

Ensure good MEP drawing management and the control of MEP documentation/filing on site.

Coordinate with client’s representatives, consultants, and subcontractors on all technical matters, including submission of method statement, drawings, materials, samples and work progress.

Control site progress & installation quality as per approved Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Schedule for on-time completion.

Assist in supervising and coordinating MEP services work closely with other departments.

Assist for submission of evaluation of progress claim, variation work.

Participate in all relevant project review meetings, site meetings, design meetings, and other project relevant meetings.

Responsible for carrying out M&E technical meetings and resolving technical issues with record.

Responsible for M&E drawing coordination and production of CSD and individual service drawings quality.

Provide and maintain all site inspection records & T&C records up to date.

Responsible for conducting QA/QC inspection, managing RE, RTO and responsible for clearing QA/QC inspections to meet with construction schedule.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, recognized by PE Board Singapore.

Minimum 10 years’ work experience related projects in Singapore building and construction industry.

Electrical/Mechanical Engineering experience in HDB projects or high-rise developments.

Possess strong Electrical/Mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experiences.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with site teams to execute work.

Experience in design and build is an advantage.

Use of AutoCad would be an advantage.
