Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore seeks an Engineer to develop and implement advanced manufacturing processes using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and hybrid manufacturing. You will contribute to process development, automation, post-processing, inspection and digital manufacturing to transform concepts into practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace/Materials/Mechatronics or related field.
• 3–10 years of relevant experience for Senior Engineer; could be less for Engineer.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in experimental work, development or process improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise LPBF processes for industrial components and applications.
• Plan and execute process development activities including DOE and validation.
• Establish process parameters, build strategies and workflows.
• Investigate defects and root causes of variability.
• Evaluate component quality, dimensions, material properties and performance.
• Develop and integrate hybrid manufacturing workflows (additive, machining, inspection).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for manufacturability and readiness.
• Contribute to standards, best practices and process documentation.
• Support collaborative R&D projects and technical reports.
