Job summary

Prudential plc in Singapore seeks an experienced underwriter to assess medical and financial risks of life and health insurance applicants. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate risk and exposures of potential clients.

The role involves decisions within authority, reviewing complex cases, servicing interactions with Financial Consultants, and contributing to ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of medical conditions, insurance laws & regulations.
• Good understanding of insurance products.
• Customer-oriented, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confident in problem solving and decision making.
• Possesses project management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies.
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends.
• Review cases with complex medical conditions and multiple risk factors.
• Involved in face to face and phone/zoom calls as a part of servicing duties to the Financial Consultants/Agency Leaders. Also aligning with the Business Development Managers/Directors and explain the underwriting decision.
• Process a customer request end to end.
• Provide support and services to Financial Consultants on matters relating to underwriting.
• Be involved in ad hoc projects.
