Qualifications

Job description

Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Software Engineer, especially in Android to help lead and improve our mobile apps used by millions of global users. The successful candidate will lead the technical architecture, performance optimization, and ad-monetization infrastructure across our core product offerings.

• Architecture & Core Development: Architect, develop, and manage the complete lifecycle of high-scale Android applications.
• Media Playback Engine Engineering: Build and optimize low-level media playback architecture (custom audio/video codec handling, buffering strategies, streaming protocols, ExoPlayer/MediaPlayer customization) for high-performance playback across low- and mid-tier Android devices.
• Performance & Memory Optimization: Lead deep technical optimizations across memory leaks, battery consumption, network traffic, and app startup speed to drive retention in emerging markets.
• Ad Monetization Infrastructure: Design, build, and scale ad-network SDK integrations, content-recommendation modules, and monetization architectures to drive app revenue growth.
• Platform Operations & Release: Oversee Google Play Console compliance, target-SDK migrations, CI/CD pipelines, crash monitoring (Firebase Crashlytics), and rapid hotfix deployments.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: At least a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on Android development experience
• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English and Chinese.
• Technical Skills:
  • Specialized expertise in media playback architecture, streaming frameworks, audio/video codecs, and custom ExoPlayer implementations.
  • Track record in ad-network SDK integrations, monetization architectures, and App Store Optimization (ASO) strategies.
  • Deep experience in memory, battery, and startup profiling tools.
