Job summary

RemotePeople is seeking a seasoned mobile software leader with 8+ years in development, including 5+ years on mobile client-side. You will own architecture and code reviews for large React Native projects, work across iOS and Android, and drive AI agent features end-to-end within a global team.

Expect deep TypeScript/React expertise, performance optimization, and strong CI/CD discipline. You will collaborate across countries and time zones to deliver high-quality, scalable mobile products.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years of mobile client-side development experience.
• Proficient in at least one native technology track — iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin.
• Hands-on production experience with the other mobile platform, able to own architecture design and code review.
• Experience with large-scale React Native production projects; solid grasp of TypeScript, React, state management, native modules, and hybrid app architecture.
• Familiar with React Native performance optimization, version upgrades, platform compatibility, and crash/exception monitoring.
• Strong client-side fundamentals: networking, caching, concurrency, storage, security, and lifecycle management.
• Familiar with App Store and Google Play release processes and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
• Has led or been deeply involved in at least one AI agent-related feature end-to-end — requirements analysis, technical design, model/tool integration, development and integration testing, and post-launch iteration.
• Understands core engineering considerations for LLM applications, including prompting, context management, tool calling, streaming output, graceful degradation, evaluation, and safety boundaries.
• Concrete experience applying AI coding tools to improve productivity, able to speak to use cases, team workflow, quality control methods, and measured results.
• Experience as a Tech Lead, small-team lead, or in engineering management.
• Able to make sound trade-off decisions among delivery speed, technical debt, user experience, and system quality.
• Comfortable working across countries, cultures, and time zones.
• Nice to Have: Experience in consumer internet, social, content, AI, tools, or mobile-first products.
• Nice to Have: Experience building a client-side product or engineering team from 0 to 1.
• Nice to Have: Experience managing performance and stability for products with 1M+ users.
• Nice to Have: Familiar with the React Native new architecture — Fabric, TurboModules, or Hermes.
• Nice to Have: Familiar with web front-end technologies, or backend development skills in Node.js, Go, Java, or Python.
• Nice to Have: Experience with internationalization, multi-language support, payments, account systems, push notifications, subscriptions, or privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture design and code review for mobile client-side features.
• Lead or collaborate as Tech Lead on large-scale React Native projects across time zones.
• Drive AI agent-related features end-to-end: analysis, design, integration, testing, and iteration.
• Ensure robust performance, stability, and security of mobile applications across platforms.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and contribute to roadmap planning and code quality initiatives.
