Job summary

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is seeking a senior software engineer in Singapore to design and implement scalable systems. You will build microservices using Java/Spring Boot and Python, create rich web interfaces, and ensure production-grade quality with automated testing and reviews.

You will participate in AI-assisted development and tooling adoption, contribute to architecture discussions, and help raise engineering standards across teams while prioritising security and resiliency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline.
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 12+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in software development of microservices with Java, Spring Boot, Python.
• Experience with cloud technologies and distributed systems, RESTful APIs and web technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in front-end languages and libraries (e.g., C#, React) and back-end languages/frameworks (Java, Spring, Python).
• Proficient in SDLC and automation/continuous delivery methods.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Experience with build/integration tools including JIRA, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
• Creating user interfaces and interactive features for web applications.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions to probe architectural designs and applicability within existing systems.
• Leads communities of practice to drive adoption of new technologies.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes with validation standards.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development, to improve automation at scale.
