Job summary

ANTAS PTE. LTD. is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, maintain and support enterprise applications in the banking and financial services sector.

You will work on backend development with Core Java, SQL/PLSQL and Unix/Linux scripting, ensuring robust batch processing and application support. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of relevant software development, maintenance or support experience.
• Hands-on Java programming with Core Java, OOP and Java Collections.
• Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL, joins, subqueries, and stored procedures/functions.
• Experience with Oracle or Sybase databases.
• Unix/Linux commands and Shell scripting (Bash/Ksh).
• Experience with batch processing, scheduled jobs and data validation.
• Knowledge of debugging, log analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with unit/integration testing and SDLC.
• Basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Java applications with Core Java and OOP.
• Write SQL queries, joins and PL/SQL procedures, functions and packages.
• Support database operations using Oracle or Sybase and performance tuning.
• Develop Unix/Linux Shell scripts for file processing and job automation.
• Execute and monitor batch jobs and data processing workflows.
• Debug, analyze logs and perform basic root cause analysis.
• Conduct unit and integration tests, fix defects and verify deployments.
• Assist production support, incident resolution and release management.
• Maintain code, docs and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs and support teams on system enhancements.
