Job summary

Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore invites applications for a Senior Instructor within the Student Development & Alumni Affairs Department. You will teach sports-related subjects, develop curriculum, and coordinate with instructors and administration to enhance students' learning experience.

You will supervise sports CCAs and coordinate with athletes, coaches, and partner schools, while forging overseas partnerships and supporting poly-wide events.

Qualifications

Job description

What the role is:

This Senior Instructor position is part of the Student Development & Alumni Affairs Department.

What you will be working on:

• To support the sports-related subjects e.g. Sports & Wellness in terms of teaching, curriculum development, liaise with instructors and subjects administration to enhance students’ learning experience.
• To support the development and learning of Sports Science and/or basic health and fitness principles to CCA athletes and students in the sports-related subjects (e.g. Sports & Wellness).
• To supervise and manage the assigned sports CCAs and interest groups in their training and competitions, and be the liaison between athletes,coaches,schoolsandotherkeypartnersandstakeholders(e.g.MOE schools for Talent Recruitment, other Polytechnics, ITE and Academic Universities for POL-ITE & IVP).
• To establish partnerships with reputable overseas institutions and clubs/academies to plan and lead overseas sports exchanges and leadership programmes for athletes.
• To organize, support and/or contribute in poly-wide events or activities [e.g. Freshmen Orientation, Temasek Regatta, CCA Recruitment Drive, Early Admission Exercise (EAE)/Direct Admission Exercise (DAE)].
• To manage and administer procurement and administrative processes in accordance with established policies and procedures, including the preparation and calling of ITQs/tenders, procurement, vendor liaison, and payment processing through systems such as Workday, GeBIZ and Vendors@Gov, to support the effective delivery of departmental programmes and services.
• Able to work beyond office hours when required, including weekday evenings and/or Saturdays (e.g. during CCA training, competitions and events), with flexible working arrangements to accommodate such commitments where operationally feasible.

What we are looking for:

• Preferably at least 3 years of relevant working experience in schools and/or sports industry, with knowledge and skills in teaching, high performance sports team management and/or event management of various sizes and scale.
• Able to work independently and as a team, requiring to solve novel and complex issues on a regular basis with minimal guidance, and with good interpersonal and collaborative skills to work in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders.
• Analytical, resourceful, result-oriented and self-motivated individual, with good learning agility
• Proficient in software such as MS Office, Gen-AI and Co-Pilot.
