Job summary

Hitachi Vantara Pte. Limited is seeking a Senior Storage SRE to join a small L3 Support team responsible for NGA/EV services delivery under SLA guidelines. You will handle daily operations, change management, and incident resolution while collaborating with Engineering and Vendor Support to ensure high customer satisfaction.

You will mentor junior staff, translate standards into deployment designs, and manage lifecycle activities including firmware upgrades, with some out-of-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Object Storage technology (preferably HCP with HCI).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of core IT protocols, virtualization, servers, networks, storage, databases, data centers, and security.
• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies in Archive environments.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory, risk and compliance initiatives related to NGA/EV services.
• Assist the Project Team as SME for Solution Design and Transition to Operations.
• Provide On-Call support on a defined rotation with some OOH work.

Responsible for designing, configuring, and installing information systems (including hardware and software) that have been purchased by the organization's customers. Advises the sales team on the technical aspects of information systems and products. Collaborates with the sales team to estimate the costs and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing information systems products to meet customer needs and systems environment. Ensures smooth integration with customer's existing systems. Prepares flow charts, models, and procedures and conducts feasibility studies to design possible system solutions. Writes system and programming specifications so that when the system is implemented it will meet customer needs. Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system. Responsible for establishing operational plans for job area. Developing and implementing new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results. Requires communication with leadership.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Infrastructure SRE, works as part of a small L3 Support team responsible for the delivery of NextGen Archive (NGA) and Enterprise Vault Services to a specific client based on agreed SLAs, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The role is involved in daily operations, including Change Management, Capacity management and complex incident and problem resolution. He/She will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex technical issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. The role also provides expertise and technical guidance to functional project teams and participates in cross-functional initiatives where NGA/EV expertise is needed. Mentoring/training junior staff members where and when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as a Senior Storage SRE within a L3 Support team with aspects of Solutions/Architect and working closely with Engineering and Vendor Support functions.
• Provision, configure, maintain and troubleshoot multiple HCP platforms, distributed across the world.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance, optimize the NGA/EV Services, making proactive recommendations to the Service Delivery Management Team. This will include, but not be limited to, areas of capacity, performance, availability, stability, cost and support roadmaps.
• Perform periodic capacity and performance planning of the NGA/EV Services and inform the Service Delivery Management Team of key findings and recommendations.
• Respond to and resolve NGA/EV-related incidents, managing all necessary communication with other technical teams and the management team.
• Translate engineering and security standards to deliver low level design documents and large and medium-scale deployments.
• Take ownership of and perform life cycle management activities such as code and firmware upgrades.
• Support auditory, regulatory and risk and compliance initiatives that contain deliverables related to the NGA/EV services.
• Assist the Project Team as a Subject Matter Expert with respect to Solution Design and Transition of Services from Project to Operations.
• Provide On-Call support on a defined rotation with some OOH work required as needed.

Qualifications and key technical skills:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Object Storage technology, preferably HCP with HCI.
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• The individual will be expected to have a good knowledge of core IT protocols and systems (virtualization, servers, networks, storage, databases, data centres, and security) and, ideally, have a system administration background. The role will demand the ability to learn new platforms and technologies and apply this knowledge to business needs.
• The individual is expected to understand the principles of backup and disaster recovery methodologies and how they relate to Archive environments.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
