Job summary

NCS in Singapore is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead design, deployment, and management of critical IT infrastructure. You will drive automation with IaC, oversee virtualization, and ensure security and scalability across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

The role requires 7+ years in infrastructure/IT operations, 3+ years in senior/architect capacity, deep cloud and virtualization expertise, and strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

Senior Infrastructure Engineer [Systems/ IT Operations Management]

We're looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our organization in Singapore. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of our critical IT infrastructure systems. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability of our infrastructure while mentoring junior team members and driving operational excellence across the organization.

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level infrastructure solutions including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms
• Manage and optimize virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
• Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts, analyzing root causes and implementing preventive measures
• Monitor system performance and capacity planning, utilizing monitoring and logging tools to identify optimization opportunities
• Establish and enforce IT operations standards, best practices, and security protocols across the infrastructure
• Mentor and guide junior infrastructure engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, networking, and application teams to ensure infrastructure alignment with business objectives
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities
• Document infrastructure architecture, configurations, and procedures to maintain comprehensive knowledge repositories
• Participate in IT service management processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Due to government project sensitivity, we will only consider Singapore Citizen
• 7+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or IT operations management
• 3+ years in a senior, lead, or architect-level infrastructure role
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of networking, security protocols, and firewall management
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, ELK Stack, Splunk, or similar)
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL) frameworks and best practices
• Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning and business continuity management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively across teams
• Experience mentoring and leading technical teams
• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Security+
