Job summary

NCS Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead design, implementation, and management of critical IT infrastructure. The role requires 7+ years in infrastructure, 3+ years in senior/architect roles, and strong cloud, virtualization, and IaC skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or IT operations management.
• 3+ years in a senior, lead, or architect-level infrastructure role.
• Singapore Citizen due to government project sensitivity.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of networking, security protocols, and firewall management.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, networking, cloud).
• Manage and optimize virtualization environments with high availability and DR capabilities.
• Develop and implement IaC solutions to automate provisioning and config management.
• Lead incident response, analyze root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor performance and capacity using monitoring & logging tools; identify optimization opportunities.
• Establish and enforce IT operations standards, security protocols, and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to align infra with business goals.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies.

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our organization in Singapore. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of our critical IT infrastructure systems. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability of our infrastructure while mentoring junior team members and driving operational excellence across the organization.

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level infrastructure solutions including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms
• Manage and optimize virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
• Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts, analyzing root causes and implementing preventive measures
• Monitor system performance and capacity planning, utilizing monitoring and logging tools to identify optimization opportunities
• Establish and enforce IT operations standards, best practices, and security protocols across the infrastructure
• Mentor and guide junior infrastructure engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, networking, and application teams to ensure infrastructure alignment with business objectives

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively across teams
• Experience mentoring and leading technical teams
• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Security+
