Job summary

Waters Corporation is seeking an Informatics Business Development Specialist to lead pre-sales activities for CDS and LMS software in ASEAN. You will demonstrate enterprise software, articulate ROI, and collaborate with regional and global teams to grow Waters Informatics revenue in the region.

The role requires a chemistry/biology/engineering background, 3–5 years in LC/CDS, strong English communication, and willingness to travel 30–50% across Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or engineering or other science related fields from accredited university is essential.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant LC and CDS experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure and Oracle SQL databases.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with sales team to achieve business goals and drive sustainable YoY revenue growth for Waters Informatics products in ASEAN.
• Drive Empower subscription initiative in line with corporate direction to reinforce Waters leading position in CDS space.
• Map customer workflows for the creation of performance or compliance metrics to propose the ROI/Business Impact study to prospective customers.
• Discuss Waters software solution concepts and provide support for customer based "Proof of Concept" evaluations (POC's) by demonstrating features and functions of Waters Informatics products effectively during pre-sales activities.
• Foster a SaaS-oriented mindset among customers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with segment BDs to drive Waters informatics solutions into market segments, including product presentations at events.
• Develop local competitive knowledge and market intelligence with local teams.
• Provide technical support to direct and indirect sales teams such as configuration of CDS network system and pre-sales product enquiries, bridge between Sales and Service during implementation.
• Deliver Informatics sales and product training to field sales and specialist team.

Overview

The Informatics Business Development Specialist (IBDS) has pre-sales product responsibility for our Chromatography Data System (CDS) and Lab Management System (LMS) software sales activities and is commissioned to attain the region revenue quota. This position will be responsible for demonstrating and selling enterprise class software into the scientific and life sciences markets we serve.Critical to this position is a deep knowledge on how our product portfolio interoperates, good customer skills and understanding of general laboratory workflows. Close collaboration with the Waters field matrix, product and segment BDs team to develop and implement plans for strategic accounts within region.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Global and Regional counterpart to drive Empower subscription initiative in line with corporate direction to reinforce Waters leading position in CDS space.

• Discuss Waters software solution concepts and provide support for customer based \"Proof of Concept\" evaluations (POC's) by demonstrating features and functions of Waters Informatics products effectively during pre-sales activities.


• Foster a SaaS-oriented mindset among customers and internal stakeholders


• Required to work as a unified team with the respective segment BDs to drive Waters informatics solutions into specific market segment, which includes product presentation or show-and-tell at marketing events.


• Development of local competitive knowledge and market intelligence by partnering with local teams and resources.


• Provide technical support to direct and indirect sales teams such as configuration of CDS network system and pre-sales product enquiries, bridge between Sales and Service during implementation.


• Deliver Informatics sales and product training to field sales and specialist team.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of on-premises or Cloud solution IT infrastructure and how Oracle databases (SQL) work is a plus


• Quality Control (QC) lab experience or understanding the process of selling informatics solutions into organizations that are regulated by GxP rules.


• Good command of English language and outstanding verbal and written communication skills


• Demonstrates agility in thinking and strong stakeholder management capabilities.


• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate and handle stress in a fast-paced environment.


• Analytical mindset and strong drive to resolve open issues


• Independent and motivated self-starter


• 30-50% of travelling within Southeast Asia region is required for this role
