Job summary

ByteDance seeks an experienced Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to manage OS deployment and hyperscale provisioning platforms for its data centers. You will drive platform evolution, backend components, and hardware enablement across Dell/other servers while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

You will lead testing of CPUs, memory, storage, and GPUs, plus implement automated benchmarking and AI-assisted troubleshooting to improve efficiency and reduce downtimes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or related field and 3+ years in IT infra, server ops, or hardware validation.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and operational models.
• Deep knowledge of Linux OS and server hardware (CPU, memory, storage, RAID, NIC).
• Solid understanding of PXE-based provisioning workflows and network protocols (DHCP, TFTP, HTTP).
• Hands-on with IPMI/Redfish and boot architectures (BIOS/UEFI).
• Strong programming/automation in Golang, Python, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and Linux admin/or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and deploy OS across large-scale IDC environments.
• Design and evolve core provisioning platform architecture for hyperscale environments.
• Develop backend components for the provisioning system and hardware enablement.
• Investigate complex issues across the server delivery lifecycle and explore AI/LLM-based log analysis and self-healing concepts.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and strengthen security, DR, and compliance.
• Coordinate end-to-end server hardware validation and delivery assurance.
• Lead GPU performance benchmarking, stress testing, and tuning.
• Develop automated benchmarking and stress-testing frameworks.
• Perform quality analytics on large-scale server shipments and drive improvement.
