Job summary

Pacific Life Re Limited is seeking a Senior Underwriter, High Net Worth, to lead and evolve the HNW underwriting proposition on a global scale. You will provide expert medical, financial and non-medical risk assessment, delivering competitive and commercial underwriting solutions for high-value life insurance risks.

You will shape underwriting philosophy, governance, standards and market capabilities, while offering technical leadership on complex cases and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 12 years’ life insurance underwriting experience.
• Significant High Net Worth underwriting experience, ideally with a global reinsurer.
• Expert technical underwriting and risk assessment capability.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite complex and high-value life insurance risks in accordance with philosophy, authorities and risk appetite.
• Deliver sound, timely and commercially competitive underwriting decisions while managing mortality and morbidity.
• Evaluate medical, financial and non-medical information for risk classification and outcomes.
• Lead complex HNW cases, client engagements and strategic underwriting initiatives.
• Support development of HNW governance, guidelines and operating models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance underwriting excellence and innovation.
• Provide technical leadership on portfolio management, referrals and risk strategies.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to build HNW capability and knowledge sharing.
