About the Role
We are looking for an experienced freight forwarding professional with strong hands-on experience in BOTH air and sea freight.
This is a senior operations role covering shipment coordination, customer management, documentation, permits, DG cargo and billing, with a clear opportunity to progress towards an Assistant Supervisor / supervisory role.
You will work closely with the Freight Manager and take increasing responsibility for daily operations and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer accounts and provide timely shipment and operational updates.
- Handle end-to-end air and sea freight operations, including bookings, tracking and delivery coordination.
- Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, vendors and internal teams.
- Prepare and verify MAWB, HAWB, Bill of Lading, DG and customs-related documentation.
- Handle TradeNet permit applications and declarations where required.
- Coordinate DG cargo and ensure proper documentation and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve shipment and operational issues.
- Support freight billing, invoicing and verification of shipment-related charges.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
- Assist the Freight Manager with daily operations and process improvements.
- Guide junior team members and support team coordination.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant freight forwarding experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in BOTH air and sea freight is essential.
- Good knowledge of freight documentation, customs procedures and shipment processes.
- Hands-on experience with TradeNet permit applications / declarations is a strong advantage.
- DG certification and practical experience handling DG shipments is a strong advantage.
- Experience with freight billing, invoicing and charge verification.
- Strong customer service, communication and coordination skills.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of operational matters.
- Experience guiding or mentoring junior staff is an advantage.
